started down shifting hard into 2nd then during take off no slip just would not shift into 2nd but if you would wind out first would shift to drive at about 40mph then shifts fine any ideas what it could be no check engine lite comes on

 

Sounds like the intermediate band inside the tranny broke. It's tranny shop time.

 

is there a way to check with trans pan off

 

there is 2 speed sensors on the tranny, also 3 or 4 things you can replace with the pan off! I had my tranny serviced and they replaced a speed sensor and 3 little relays or whatever they are and adjusted the bands and it drives like new! I was haveing shifting problems! had trouble shifing into second and not shifting corectley!

 

does not shift upinto 2nd but if shifted manually when down shifting it will shift briefly into 2nd but at no time wil it stay in 2nd,will it still do that if band is broke ? also if the intermediate band is broke would there be a slip when it was in third/ drive and pssing gear kicks in ? had chevey tahoe 2nd went out would slip
