Cruising down the interstate at 75 mph in the fast lane passing a couple of cars with none in front. 5' concrete barrier between north and south bound lanes. Pretty much open on both sides of the highway. Drivers side window explodes, scattering glass all over me and the inside of the van. No evidence of any shot or anything hitting it. It wasn't cracked before this as far as I know. Am almost thinking it might have been some sort of pressure blowing it out. Was wondering if those little vents in the taillights might equalize pressure inside the van. It's a 2001 B2500.
Any ideas?
The window blew out, not in which is why the pressure idea came to mind. It could have been impact, I was just trying to find out if anybody else had seen anything like it.
Thanks,
Evan

Yes they let the excess pressure generated by the HVAC fan out of the vehicle. Behind the vents is a rubber flapper designed to allow the air to escape. When you have the lamp assembly out look into the pocket and you will see them. Doubt that it is what attributed to the implosion. Unless you had problems raising/lowering the window (binding issue) then it had to be something hitting it from outside.
Sitting in my driveway. I have a 2009 Megacab, 2500. Both front seat windows were up. Both back seat windows were halfway down. Got in and shut the drivers door and both back seat windows exploded. Wonder who made the windows.
