Unhappy heater, a/c issue

i went through and read about 8 pages of theads and my issue is different. blower works fine on all settings (front and rear). the heat that comes out of the front vents is bearly warm. it takes the good part of an hour of idling in the driveway to get decent heat, and then, it just trickles out of the windshield vents( im not even gonna mention the temp of the heat coming out of the rear vents, burrrr). no matter what setting the vent control **** is on, it still only comes out of the windshield vents of the windshield/floor combo. as for the a/c, what a/c it blows warm air! ahhhhhhhhhh !?! please help.

The first thing to do is confirm the engine is reaching 195 degrees by using a thermometer.

If the T-stat is 195 and in good working condition, then check the water control valve going from the water pump black pipe to hose to the HVAC unit. It is vacuumed controlled. If the valve is stuck closed, you will not get hot coolant flow to the heater core of the HVAC.

The water control valve is located just above the alternator or the air intake hose.

k so the engine runs at ~192-193, but the air that comes out of the windshield vents berely lifts up a dollar bill and i get that setting or the windshield/ floor combo. i can hear the blower loud as hell but the air pressure is weak and powerless.

One of the vacuum actuators isn't working or an animal built a nest in your heater box.

Since the air directional control is not changing the air flow from windshield to vents or other then you have a vacuum leak for sure. On the right side of the engine check the vacuum line that goes from the manifold to the vacuum ball just behind the right headlamp assembly. Make sure the vacuum check valve and vacuum bulb and the lines are in good shape. Also look just below where the top of the hood closes by the PCM for some very small diameter vacuum lines. I have found some of them get brittle and break.
