Default can't find the air temp sensor on a 1993 B350 Van

I have a 1993 b350 dodge van with the 360 engine and am trying to find the air temp sensor. Does it even have one? The auto parts store showed me one but I can not find anything that looks like in on this engine. Maybe there is one for another year ? This is a 93 5.9 L or better know as a 360 cu in. with fuel injection and california emissions. Would love to know if it really has one and if so WHERE!!!!

Isn't it installed in the air cleaner housing?

If your year had Throttle Body injection( 2 injectors where the carb would otherwise be), there is an Air charge temperature sensor screwed into the side of the TB.

I do not know about a 93 and if they added something else or moved it

It looks like this:

I think it's located on the top of the intake manifold near the thermostat housing. Bugger to get access to.

Default There is no air temp sensor

I discovered my b350 is a late 1992 and that engine does not have a air temp sensor. The one that I thought it had and had the same brass nut look is actually the water temp sensor. After giving the van a complete tune up with new wires, cap rotor and plugs it works fine.

All of a sudden the VAN is back acting funny again. When it is cold it starts fine but then the engine runs fast and then slow almost to a stall and then runs rough for awhile then real fast...like someone is stepping on the gas....all of this while just sitting. When in Drive it does the same thing. It seems to go away when the engine and outside temp is warm. The morning everything is cold including the outside temp. I read somewhere that this can be cause by the oxygen sensor. As stated before this engine does not have an air temp sensor in the TB.

How can i find out if this year has this air temp sensor? IS there someone out there who knows exactly where this would be located? I do not seem to have anything like this on the TB but I might have missed it. Seems strange since this all of a sudden started doing this surging for no apparent reason as we use the van daily. Could some bad gas be the cause or water in the gas?

Your Air Temperature Sensor (if you have MPFI) should be located near the front of your intake manifold on the right side of the engine directly behind the alternator. Reference voltage at the connector for the 5.2L engine should be approximately 5VDC. Resistance on the sensor when the engine is cold should be about F = 17,900 to 10,800 ohms.

OK thanks but what is MPFI? A type of fuel injection? My fuel injection is with a Throttle Body and just two jets on top much like a carberator. Apparently when Dodge built these vans they say 1992 but the engine arrangement seems to always show up as being 1991. Anyhow please clarify

Multi Port Fuel Injection = It's when you have one fuel injector per cylinder instead of just the two on the throttle body (TBI), or Throttle Body Injection.
