Thanks for the advice on MPG. I will be using some of them as I can. I just did a tune up and wanted to get the copper rotor but after going to several places and running out of time I had to go aluminum. I guess I have lots of time to find them for next tune up.
I am going to try synthetic gear oil as well as transmission oil when I do the next change.

Most places do carry the Blue Streak (made by Standard) line of caps and rotors - they have brass contacts. Put that on my '73 the day I picked it up and they're still good 4 years later.

As others have mentioned on the other Dodge forum, the first lithium grease I used was alright for bearings on drum brakes, but not for bearings found in disc brakes. I had received a few PMs and did some searching to agree with the findings.

One might also make sure the transmission, I believe it is 3rd gear band is properly adjusted. Seems it needs to be done about every 50,000-80,000 mile. I also had them adjust my tps cable a couple of notches. That will help it stop hunting a gear, and will make the shifts alittle more positive. Be sure and find a GOOD dodge transmission man for the tps adjustment, cause you have to remove the doghouse to do it right.

This is a really good thread--thanks a bunch

Third gear band, if that was slipping it would also cause heat and reduced power to the wheels would it not? It seems to be working fine but I will put it on the list after the summer to have the transmission serviced. I can change the Trans oil and that but know nothing about adjusting a transmission so I will have to lower myself to use a "pro" in this case. Most of the time it backfires and I am better off doing it myself if I can figure it out.
