i have a 97 Dodge Ram 2500 Mark III with front and rear air. The cap was left off the low side valve when i got the van. Its rusted and and is too thin to take a charge, it just sprays all over, i tried a new valve needle also. Im thinking my only fix is too replace the steel tube with the valve?

Yes on yours and mine the only solution is to replace the lines. Even if the cap was in place it will still have rusted, I know for mine has even with the cap in place.
