Hi all, I have never posted here before so please forgive any boneheaded mistakes I may commit. I am hoping one of you may be able to advise me on getting my beloved van going again. It is a 2002 Ram Van 1500 with 3.9L V6 and it has approx. 97,000 miles. It died on me on Sunday (with the fam on board, yikes!). Was traveling about 70 mph (legally) on clear dry road and just lost all power, pulled over and wouldn't restart. It won't run at all but cranks good. The CEL has been on sometimes over the past few weeks, and I figured gas cap/evap whatever issues. I pulled the codes using my scan tool and only got P0138 (rear O2 sensor high voltage). Would this make the van not run at all? I mean it doesn't even cough or sputter. Or is this just the last code logged before some other major electrical component fried? I don't think it is the coil this time because when that went on me a couple years ago I got a misfire code. And I already know about keeping the IAC clean.
I am going to go out now and pull a plug and check for spark, I will post what I find...

Did you check for power to the coil?

Checked power to coil-about 8 volts, but may be inaccurate reading as I had trouble holding meter , leads and cranking engine. Replaced coil and started right up, now need to check it out with road test to be sure...
