Dodge Rear End Swap Info Needed
I will be needing a 8.25 rear end swap soon. My question for those with knowledge or first hand experience is, what other dodge vehicles would be a direct swap over for my 1994 Dodge B150 Van with rear anti-lock brakes, 5.2 V8, and a 4-speed auto. I would be going to a pick your part type junkyard in search of what I could use. These numbers are on my pumpkin case, 4384213.
Thanks

The 8.25 is actually 8 3/8.
Several years ago I searched all the yards in San Diego, found a fairly low mile 97 van with a 9.25, installed it and found it was louder than my 8 3/8 was.
I then just took it to Oceanside Driveline where they straightened the axle, installed all new bearings, painted it, and charged me about 750$. If your r&p and spider gears and axleshafts are still good, then having yours professionally rebuilt might be simpler than finding a good junkyard axle. You might get lucky, or you could get screwed
I looked only at Dodge Vans because I was not sure the spring perches would be the same as on a truck, and I never had my tape measure with me.
Here is what the diff cover on a 9.25 looks like.

under one of the diff cover bolts, there should be a tag with the gear ratio. The JY 9.25 axle I got had a 3.5 tag to replace my 3.55 8 3/8.
A conversion U joint was required on my driveshaft
