Default Bring back the Ram Van?

I think it'd be a great idea to bring back the Dodge Ram Van. I mean, other car makers still make Ford Econolines and Chevy Expresses, so why can't Chrysler? I think they could use this as the base.

They could convert the pick-up truck into a van. What do you guys say?

I agree that this platform would work perfectly. Even give the van a mean looking front end. But sadly I am not holding my breath. Last I read they are using a Fiat based van that should be released in the next couple of years.

Regardless of what (if anything) they decide to do concerning a traditional van I think it can be safely said that the Sprinter series was a miserable failure.

What an epic mis-read of the market by Chrysler.

That sounds OK.

I agree -- somebody should have gotten their *** kicked for the Sprinter fiasco.
The Ram Van was one of the best on the market -- it would be nice if it were resurrected, but probably not going to happen. As far as I can see, the new vans they are promoting are pretty much worthless. Who wants a front-wheel drive cargo van?

Or Passenger Van for that matter.

As for the Ford Econoline, it will end it's long life production in the early part of December this year. Our company is making 75,000 more parts and closing the production line by August.

Ford intends to replace the Econoline with a longer version of the Transit, but with less seating (about 10 max). My company was not awarded the newer van business.

What a joke.
So they're going to leave the "real" van market to GMC?

Yeah, I don't like expresses. Do they offer a single rear door or just the double? I personally like the single door better.
