Default new guy with a 91 ram van

Hey guys new to the forum... i just bought a 91 b250 conversion van... i love it!
One issue i have noticed however is that when i slow down and come to a stop my oil pressure light comes on and the pressure drops really low. My speedo also seems to be way off. Now there are some aftermarket wheels on here so i figured that would contribute to that. i have not figured out the TV but im sure there is a switch i have to turn on or a fuse i need to replace. i bought this cause im a drummer and needed something to carry my kit and band in... as well as my family to go on trips! (thats how i convinced my wife anyway!)

Welcome to the forums!

I think the van is low on oil, so you might want to change it and verify the correct level when you know for sure it has the correct amount. If you still get the oil light after that it could indicate a problem with the oil pump pickup.

I think the tires and wheels shown in these photos could be a problem. It's a truck. There are certain tire requirements that go along with hauling 3 tons down the highway at 70mph.

The OEM oil pressure gauge is hardly accurate. The sender could be going, or you could indeed have low oil pressure at idle when the oil is hot.

Old Oil can shear down and become a lighter viscosity. There is also a chance of fuel dilution if it is running very rich.

Change the oil and consider a heavier weight like a 10w40. I'm running 5w40 and it is probably thicker than needed on my rebuilt engine. 20w 50 is kind of excessive but will increase hot idle oil pressure.

Lots of used cars are filled with thicker oil cause it slows leaks and might cover consumption issues. Lots just throw a bottle of Lucas OS in there since it is effectively detergent and additive free oil thickener, and also will mask bigger engine issues like low oil pressure and oil consumption.

It is pretty much a well advertised snake oil in any healthy engine.

Purolator classic or pure one 30001 is a good oversized oil filter.Wix 51515 or Napa equivalent 1515 are good choices . Avoid orange can Fram

The TV might play videos, but it it too old to pick up digital broadcasts without a converter box. The Antennas they install inside the fiberglass roof are pretty much a joke too. The Boomerang antenna is also pretty poor at reception, and Digital will not work in a moving vehicle.

There is likely another fuse block for the conversion package. Check the firewall by the E brake.

I recently acquired a13.3" LED backlit Flast panel HDtv. it draws very little electricity, 0.7 amps at 12.6 volts, or 1/2 to 1/3 of what CRT tv's of similar size do

yeah the tv, i really just wanted to hook up a dvd player and maybe an NES, or any other video game system... the tv just would not turn on. As far as the oil, i just bought this from a dealership and they said they did an oil change on it.. ill double check in the morning.

Its impossible to tell from this wether the tv is 110vac or 12vdc as it could be either. If you think it is a normal tv from the wiring then track down the dc-ac invertor and check that with another small appliance. If the tv seems to have red/black wiring it is probably 12v so check for voltage with a meter or apply 12v (hotwire) directly.

Aw, you beat me to it. I was going to say that the one on the left is to jack in your Axe and the one on the right turns on the Marshall Stack.
