I just did a major tune up on my tank and the engine light came on and there's a loud hissing noise...I found one vac hose that needed to be replaced and did so...This took care of most of the hissing noise but a little still remains and engine light came on...Can any one tell me if the air filter cover on the housing needs a gasket...Mine doesn't have one...

 

Many do not have them but I was able to get one from my favorite auto parts store and installed it. Where does the hissing sound seem to come from? Also have you cleaned the IAC motor? If not there is a DIY from Stev with step by step instructions including picutres on how to do that.

Thank you for your response and advice...The problem was a small vac hose that attaches to the front of the tb...it was brittle with a small crack on the bend...Replaced it and with a little over 97,000 mi. on it the machine is running perfectly now...
