DIY cigarette lighter disaster now van won't start
My first van. 1991 B250 only 2 other owners, 1st one installed kill switch for the fuel pump.
2nd owner, young guy, had problem with key not engaging ignition so he put in a start button. Then key miraculously started working and that's how I start it after engaging the kill switch and get fuel pump going.
Now 3rd owner, me, cigarette lighter didn't work so I bought one in town and replaced the old one. POP!!! Wire to lighter burned!
Now key turned to "on" or "start"....no sound, no warning lights, nothing.
Starter switch turns over engine, and kill switch sounds normal like the fuel pump is starting but engine just cranks and won't start.
