Hey all,

so my blower fan switch has recently started to fail, on setting 2 & 3 it does not work. 1 & 4 however does work. One cold day the blower fan was running then stopped working altogether, next day it was working. not sure if its the blower, resistor, or switch.

I've:

-tested the blower fan by taking power to it directly and it works.
-changed the resistor

its is possible the panel switch is defective? or things I should look into?

 

This would be my thought as well.

 

There is a vacuum hose that goes to valve up front. It is a very small hose so check it for dry rot or breaks. That is what caused mine to behave that way, not the resister.

How would a leaking vacuum line effect the electrical operation of the blower motor?

 

The real answer is I was in a hurry and reading and posting on a portable device and I misread lol. Therefore my answer was wrong. I did have a situation where I my blower was putting air out from windshield vents to the floor and alternating back and forth at random. That was a vacuum hose problem and that is what triggered my answer.
