The Living Room on Wheels in going in for paint tomorrow
Shoulda just sprung for a decent air compressor and an HVLP gun. And a body sander. And about 60' of 200 and another 60' of 320 grit paper. Then budget about ten days and 5 cases of beer and you're done! Thats assuming you don't burn the house down or asphyxiate on the isocyanate fumes.. but hey no big deal
Thanks.
And really, I would try it myself, but I have both a 2 and 4 year old little girls...they keep me busy. Plus, I am moving out of my house of 15 years
and Christmas -- got a lot goin on
I am going to stay with the red, but below the bottom hump that goes all around - I am going to paint that black.
I also took the ground effects off. I like it a lot more with them off. I was able to salvage the steps, so I will put those back on after paint.
Ill do some before and afters later this week

I am having Econo do it. They did the hightop for 200. They are now doing the rest as a two tone (black at the bottom and original red in the middle) for 375. So the total is 575. Not too bad...but I am not looking for a "Corvette Job", just a good job.

My van is a ruster around the lewer body. Being that it's the dark green, I had painted the roof gutter with black truck bed-liner to prevent further rust on the top. It's done well enough that nobody really notices it. However, they do notice the rust. haha
If I had to paint mine, It's going to be with a hand roller like the wall in my house.
