Anybody have any suggestions for this problem?

When first started, my van has to warm up about 5 minutes before I can shift it out of park to reverse or drive. This cannot be correct.

 

Are your brake lights working?
With the engine off and the key on, can you shift out of park?

 

believe there was a recall on this. was a post awhile back about it. had the same problem with my vehicle not being able to move the shift lever on steering wheel into any gear.

 

I wll have to check today on the brake lighs and key removal.

The recall, I called Chrysler on the 800 number and was informed this vehicles VIN # was not part of the recall. When yourvehicle ws doing this, wat was the problem and fix for it?

had to get mine towed to the independent shop for repair. they just refurbished the one on it. can't recall how much the new one was maybe $300-400.
