what transmision is in a dodge ram 1500 van with a 3.9l v6?

if there is more then one that could be in there where can i find the trans number? is it on the trans or located somewhere on the body?

Most likely the 32RH or 36RH. Best bet would be to take your vin and go to the local Dodge dealer and ask for the "Build Sheet". It will tell you which trans and much more information.

 

Lift up the hood and look for a sticker attached to the underside in proximity to the battery. Your transmission information (along with other vehicle info) should be noted there.
