Default '99 3500 Van was running fine, now won't crank "no bus"

First time posting. I have a 99 dodge ram van 3500 with a 5.9 gas engine. It was running fine until one night i parked it. Next morning it wouldn't even crank.

The battery is good. Gauges come on when i turn the key on. (sometimes they work sometimes they don't, but it was doing this before). Starter is good (i had it bench tested.) I can here the fuel pump engaging when i turn the key on. I Here the fuses click. But no crank. I don't see any obvious frays in wiring harnesses, (i could check that more thouroughly.

Sometimes when i turn the key on i get a "no bus" message on the odometer.

I've been doing some reading on this forum and others and I understand it could have something to do with the pcm/ecm, crankshaft sensor, short in the wiring, etc.

I need help diagnosing this guys. Shower me with knowledge.

Replace the neutral safety switch down on the tranny.

The No Bus message indicates a loss of communication between the instrument cluster and the PCM. 9 out of 10 times it's the PCM going bad.

so, I tried starting it in neutral and it started fine. Won't start in park only in neutral. Does this mean it's the neutral safety switch?

It's either the switch or the cam inside the tranny. I'd try a new switch first instead of opening up the tranny.
