I drive a 2003 Dodge RAM 1500 Cargo Van.

After about 5 minutes in the van I get really hot feet, I mean, REALLY hot! When wearing open shoes I try to stick to cruise control to avoid coming too close to the gas pedal. Same problem in the passenger seat. I'm not sure wether the problem comes from the a/c system or if the insulation towards the engine is the problem.

I drive this van for over 2 years now, the problem started a couple of months ago - is really annoying during summer.

Any ideas? What could be the problem? Where to go to get it fixed?

Dare I ask if the heat is coming out of the heater floor ducts?

 

No heater air comes out down there .... definitely heat coming from the engine.

 

Then you need to remove the doghouse and start inspecting heat shields.
