I like the Hastings LF115 Premium filter. It has an anti-drainback valve and an 8 PSID bypass valve, the internal end caps are metal and the filter media is regarded among the best in the industry. And they only cost about $6.

For the record, I have switched to the Purolator oil filter in my last oil change. In all seriousness it probably wouldn't have mattered either way, but I feel slightly better about it being there over the Fram.

I've started and will continue to go with the partial synthetic high mileage oil at 177.000 miles. I think this is a better choice than conventional oil at this stage in my vans life.
