Hi all...


I did the yearly plugs, wires, cap and rotor and noticed something. The distributor shaft has about 1/4 of play if you take your hand and try to turn the rotor manually. I know it wont and shouldn't turn but is this play within spec?

3/16" is the max allowable play at the end tip. I think you can measure it precisely with an inexpensive caliper. I have one of these and so far it has worked well for me.

The distributor bushings are known to wear out on these engines.
