Default Need help with CA replacement Cat

So I am trying to get a replacement Cat. I plan on ordering it ASAP from rockauto.com

Here is the problem I am facing, on their page, they list 2. Both of these seem like they will fit, however I don't know which one I need.

Here is all the info I believe I need.

1996 Dodge Ram Van B2500 2wd, 3.9L V6, Automatic, SWB, Conversion Van, 35 gal fuel tank, with CA emissions

Thank you!

I just want to be sure before I order it.....

I contacted rockauto's customer support also, and they said the same thing, but their wording was funny.....

"Hello Jim,

I called Eastern to verify the difference, and they confirmed the only difference is that the 865507 is ONLY for RWD vehicles, and the other will fit both 4WD and RWD models. They will both be exact fits as long as you have RWD/2WD, If you have 4WD, you will need to get the 640503."

HOWEVER, I do have a 2wd/RWD.... so not entirely sure... I will spend the extra $75 if I have to, to ensure I get the right product.....

From what they wrote, it sounds like either will fit, but I want to 4wd/2wd one instead of the 2wd one, correct?

not sure if it is factory or not, definitely looks like it was spliced into the system, but I don't see any kind of marking on it....

as I have had several issues with the van, I am also doing the fuel pump as well... hopefully, with those 2 things, and a new pcv valve, and a new breather cap, and a new upstream and downstream 02 sensors, I will pass......

mine actually has 2 inlet pipes, it appears that the cat is the crossover point.....

there is an o2 at the beginning of the cat on it's side, and one on the piping after the cat.....

also, it looks like there are intermediate rings, so it looks like someone spliced in the current cat... either way, at least I will have it done......

thanks for the good luck wish

I have my smog info if you want to see it and think you can help me determine if it is the cat or not... it is also posted somewhere on this forum in a thread started by me
