Default Did my rotors today, and now I am a little perplexed

Hi all...

So I did the front upper ball joint. Wow - I needed an impact gun and the $36 dollar socket off of eBay to take it out. I did get it out, and I got a new one in and
THANK YOU Alloro - you were correct.

BUT -- while I was using the pickle fork, I bashed the rotor and dented it.
Being 11 year old rotors, it decided to pick up a new set at Napa ( I tried to resurface the old one and was told they were too thin too)
I also got new bearings (the "good" ones).
Now the wheels do feel tight. But if I REALLY REALLY pull from the top of the tire (with my fingers in the tread) perpendicular to the van, both slightly feel like the bearings are bad ?????? You know - that feeling of a tiny little pop.
I cannot see why this would be with new hubs and bearings.
Am I freaking out over nothing? Or what is the issue???

This is really strange. FWIW when the rotor is installed and I tried to move and shake it from the top, it feels tight and there is not movement. This is what is perplexing me...

Thanks all.

Control arm bushings?

Also, don't the bearings have a smidge of play merely by the fact the castle nut is backed off a tad.

Did you first preload the bearings and then adjust them like described in the repair manual?

Are the lower ball joints good, or could the play be coming from them?
