Fuel gauge on my '94 has just about giving up. While I'm replacing the fuel pump unit, I'd like to replace any compromised rubber fuel lines.

After looking through the FSM, I'm not quite sure if the hoses (aside from the vent hose) are generic SAE30R9 lines with clamps or they are special quick connect hoses.

If generic, anybody know the inner diameter (ID) of the fuel hose? I was thinking its 5/16" but not sure. Roughly how much length am I looking at?

Also, my FSM is showing two different pumps, return and returnless. Same with Rockauto. Any way to determine what I got before dropping the tank. (5.9L, 35gal, 1994)?


I will be replacing the filler neck grommet and another fuel hose that runs to my on-board generator.

After digging around some more, it seems rather certain I'm looking at a quick connect line/hose.

Also, with a 94 5.9, if its anything like the dakotas (1, 2, 3), then its returnless.

If anybody knows otherwise, please chime in.
