Default Parts confusion between Ram truck and Ram van

I've noticed when I search for parts online for my Ram Van 3500, the links always go to the trucks, not the vans. While some parts may be interchangeable, how can you tell which ones are and which ones aren't? I've been trying to find driver and passenger side foot steps for the van, but the truck ones keep popping up. Will the truck ones fit the van? Also, has anyone here ever bought some and simply modified them to fit?

Yeah I know... I ask a lot of questions!

Do you mean running boards? Google search "2002 Dodge ram van running boards" You won't get all the selections as there are for the trucks but there are running boards available for the vans too.

Oh, how's the headlights problem going? Any discovery on that problem?

I'm thinking you guys were right and it's just the switch. I plan to call around the local parts stores tomorrow for one. Watched a couple YouTube vids on how to replace it. Doesn't look that difficult, but it looks like it's a pain in the @ss!

I was hoping for just the foot steps (they're cheaper), but I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy the running board kit.

I guess it's getting obvious that I'm trying to whip this van back into shape as cheaply as possible, and with my limited mechanical skills! LOL!

Thanks!

The Ram Van is built around the design of the Ram Durango, not the Ram Pickup.

I actually found some running boards for a 2000 Ford F350 with fiberglass trim on them on Craigslist for $40. Do you think with some modifications they could be made to fit?

Find out what the wheelbase is before purchasing. Dodge van's came with 109 or 127 wheelbase.

Owens Products makes running boards also. Can order them off of Amazon. Will need to make your own brackets to support them. Ones that come with them aren't very good for support.
