PSA-Spindle nut for wheel bearings
hi all...
this one always makes me feel like I am doing it wrong but not...
on my 02, the spindle nut is supposed to be torqued to 35 FT/Lbs first, then backed off and tightened to 25FT/lbs. This goes against the old adage to tighten it down till you feel a bind and then back of an 1/8 of a turn..
Yes I did verify this in the shop manual too.
For comparison to say a 1985 Monte Carlo, this is 5 times the amount of torque...
