the passenger power window on my 98 B1500 started making a little noise and then would stop about 3 inches from the top. the window is loose so I took off the door panel and it was not sitting snug in the bottom so I pushed it down all the way into the bottom channel things, whatever they are called but it still stops 3 inches from top. motor seems to be fine. almost like there is a restriction or something. looks like I have to take off the big piece of metal on the inside of the door to see everything clearly, might be a pain. any ideas?

2001 2500 van

lived with the window issue for about 3 years... rolls down easily rolls up about 80% then dies... wiat a minute or two and finally would go rest of the way... as years went by got worse, until this summer would not go all the way up at all...

I bought and replaced window regulator as I was convinced the motor was good as it felt strong to me...

no help with regulator... same issue, so then I went to Autozone and bought new motor... easy to replace and fixed the issue for good!

The Doorman (gasp) on ebay for $40 or so comes as an one piece motor/regulator. Interestingly, the location of the motor is reversed. It works fine and everything bolts up as it should...it just is different from stock. Ive had them for over a year now and they have been strong. I roll my windows down everyday here in paradise

IIRC all you need to do is remove the panel, sound plastic, and then the 3-4 bolts on the motor and two on the regulator. Also you need to unhook the PW/PDL harnesses too. It is all bolts so there is no rivets or nuts. Just make sure you tape your window up on the frame before you start

I took the motor out and connected it to the driver side and it rolled the window up and down all the way so it must be the regulator.

Default Fix for Window Regulator

I fixed the window regulator in my passenger door for about $3.50. Still works smooth as silk months later.

Lightbulb Window Regulator Cheap Fix

Wasn't being cocky in previous post. Problem was worn-out rollers. Bought a pack of shower door rollers at Lowes', drilled out the old ones, and installed the new ones. Greased the channel, and perfect! Just had to make the new ones a tad smaller to fit the channel, but easy and cheap fix. Going to do the other door, too.
