Anyone know what kind of plastic these gas tanks are made of? Only marking I could find said "APPI 35". I need to weld a small 2mm hole in the top of the tank and trying to figure out what kind of plastic rod I would need. Or if the type would even matter?

 

I found the same symbol on the other side but it was easier to read. In the center it had a big 3. I'm going with PVC.

 

They are polyethylene...

there are several kits out there to fix it. But they need to be specified for plastic and some don't adhere to polyethylene.

Find a screw a little bigger than the hole, somewhat like a license plate screw...one that will cut into the material. Cover it with sealer and slowly twist it by hand down into the hole.
