The issues I am sharing are related to this thread of inconsistent idle-ing.

Vacuum pressure from a bad booster vs, fuel relay vs. fuel pump vs. other

When your iac starts to go you will get erratic idle speeds and sometime wont idle at all. Throttle body may need to be cleaned also. The V6 has the same type of plenum gasket as the V8's, Major issues with them on the V8's.

A few backfires have occurred as well.
Are they out the exhaust or the intake?

If "Fuel pressure" was the problem, would it be consistent when driving at 20 MPH to 55MPH? That is not a listed problem here in Glennjames post, but my problems with my Van are similiar to his, although they are not consistent.

Default Swap the ECU

I know this thread is a couple years old but had a similar problem on my 5.9 Magnum engine.

swapping the ECU solved it.

tried 3 different IAC including one from a known good engine. None would close so the RPM surges to 1500+.

$90 ECU from a boneyard today instantly solved it.
