Default 2000 Dodge ram 1500 van

Hi I have a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 van, 3.9L V6, the transmission went the other day .I found a used one for $400. I just finished putting it in, the transmission is doing the same thing as the old one, There are no gears at all wont move, PRND12 the shifting lever moves easy and you can look at the tranny and it is shifting but again will not go into gear, my question is there anything else that could cause this to happen, Pump is good , fluid is new and full, every thing is plugged in properly.torque converter looks good. any help would be great Thanks. I just cant believe that the transmission I bought was no good but looks that way .

Did you reuse the same torque converter or did you get one with the new tranny?

I installed a tranny. without the torque converter properly engaging the tranny fluid pump. Fortunate for me I was able too remove the tranny and properly seat the converter and reinstall with success. That being said Alloro is likely correct and your replacement tranny is bad.
