Default Ideas/Advice for some flooring

1996 B2500 conversion van. Been thinking about tearing up the carpet, and putting in some vinyl flooring. Watched some videos of people laying plywood sheets, then applying peel and stick vinyl tiles. Seems relatively cheap and functional. Any tips or opinions? Open for ideas.

Some peel n stick looks nice but tends to not last as the adhesive lets go before long,( heat, cold humidity) tend to weaken the bond of the self stick stuff.
If just doing it as a low cost way to make the floors look good I'd say use a flooring primer (not a paint primer, but one made for flooring adhesion) ) first if using the peel and stick for a better bond to the plywood. Otherwise maybe be better off buying a non self stick type lvt (luxury vinyl) product you'd glue down with an appropriate pressure sensitive type glue over the ply. It's more like you'd install in your home and would hold up better imho

First in a dark (and enclosed area), place a bright light like a quartz halogen on the ground underneath the floor and pointed up at the floor. From inside of the vehicle you'll note some light leaks if the floor has holes in it. Seal them well with some RTV. Once dried, lay down some 1/2 inch thick plywood. And from here I know not where to go.

The preceding is what I remember reading on doing a conversion, from a small book purchased from JC Whitney that they no longer carry.

Plenty of holes for sure! Any reccomendations for adhesive to use on the plywood underneath?

Checkout either the hardware store or an RV/camper vendor.
