Default Vacuum problems

Hey guys, my first time here. I have a 1996 Dodge Ram Van 1500 and I have vacuum problems. I thought i saw somet5hing related to this when browsing. Have a vacuum leak somewhere. My mechanic thought it was the button switch which has vacuum going to it so I went on line and found one and he installed it but no luck. The AC when on will go betweehjn the vents and they floor and defroster when accelerating. Any help ???

Button switch????? Clarify, please, what is this.

If you're stating that that AC loses "blower power" upon acceleration, there could be a vacuum reservoir under the dash whose feed hose is faulty (or something associated with it leaks). Such occurred on my 2001 Ram pickup and is occurring on my 1994 B250 Ram van that I just bought.

We'll need to investigate further and we'll keep each other informed.

Did your mechanic check your vacuum check valve? Here's a TBS on the subject that might be of interest to you http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1996/24-01-96a.htm.

Hmmmm, that's worth looking into on my vehicle. I'll need to definitely check the vacuum lines on my van to see.

Your check valve is most likely bad, You can get them from napa #730-1349.

there is a vacuum reservoir under the passenger side headlight... access by taking the cover off under the headlight... the hose attaching that could be broken or leaking... deteriorated rubber hoses anywhere in the system can also cause problems
