squeeling noise from frint of motor,
Hi, need some advice here, just came back from a great camping trip and now when Im at idle or low speed, there is a squealing or a chirping sound coming from the front of the motor, it sure sounds like a bearing squealing, alternator was done 2 years ago, recently I did the water pump,91 month ago), and also replaced the pulley and tensioner pulley, all that's left is power steering and/or a/c pulleys. My question is when I replaces the pulleys, should I have greased the bearings???, also is there a method to test and see which one of the bearings is chirping, ?/ when the motor is running the sound comes from everywhere,,, any help would be appreciated,,,thanks,,,
You will need to remove the belt and check each bearing individually. In the end you probably have a bad tensioner so you'll need somebody to modulate the throttle while you watch the belt to see if it jumps. I would get a tensioner from the dealer if that is the problem.
Thanks for your reply, I bought the new tensioner and pulley from rockauto,, I checked it, and the pulley moves with the tensioner when the accelerator is pressed, but the belt isn’t jumping, , I’ll try again, thanks.
