Default Stalls Bang On tank Runs again

1996 B2500 Extended 5.8 cargo van

I have had a two trouble codes for about two weeks..Went away once came back # 42 & 21 The other day it just sputtered and died after making a turn at the bottom of a steep hill. Had a little over a 1/4 tank in a 35 gallon tank .. added 5 gallons but wouldn't start till I banged on the tank with a big hammer went about a block died again Hit tank made it about a mile then died ..hit tank started went about a mile and died again at the end of my driveway hit tank started up.... Now that pump is a Delphi pump I put in in july 17. was the third replacement since 2012 at 124,000 miles ....198,000 on it now first one was a Carter second a Bosch .... any thoughts on why this one is now acting up
I Started it last night let it Idle till warm and ran RPMs up with no issues .. Didn't dare drive it ... today I did swap the ASD relay for the AC compressor one ...
If the Pump is failing could it throw a ASD code and also the O2 sensor Rich/lean code .. Thats why I got them and then the pump finally went? Pump is under warranty and new one came today.. But I would rather not lay in the snow and pull this casket size tank out again if its not really the pump
Thanks for the thoughts Steve

banging on the tank would help ground the worn brushes in the pump motor...it could very well be a bad pump.
