Default 2001 ram van tranny codes

Just picked up a 2001 ram 3500 van. 360, 56,000 miles

its showing these codes:
P0743 torque converter clutch solenoid circuit electrical
P0753 shift solenoid A Electrical
P1740 TCC solenoid overdrive solenoid performance

any insight into these codes?
being new to these vans, is there any info I need to know on these?
how hard are they to change? Internal or external?
best place to buy them?

Looks like a wiring issue.... I would follow the harness from the trans up to where the various wires terminate. (PCM, and Power Distribution center.....)

Find the wires to the tranny and see if they have critter gnaw marks on them.

Both codes are referring to the solenoids in the trans, one is for TCC, the other is likely for O/D. (as there is no shift solenoid for the 1-2 shift.

Check the wiring at the trans, make sure you are getting 12 volts down there.

I still have the first two codes. The other went off.

the wiring connections at the tranny look fine but I haven’t been able to trace the wires everywhere. I was looking for pictures of where they go but no luck finding any.

would an over filled transmission cause this?

i know you check the typical tranny fluid level with the vehicle warm and running. Is one of the exceptions that needs to be checked while not running?

I did find a broken groin cable in the passenger side to the fire wall. That wouldn’t be it would it? I’ll fix that either way

When I disconnected this connector there was tranny fluid on the inside of it. Could this cause it?

Looked at wires and found nothing.

This plug had tranny fluid inside the plug.

Checking the fluid it seemed really high. Do you check the level with it running or is this on of the exceptions? It was warm and level.

Probably wouldn't hurt to clean it out. I *think* that is the connector for the P/N safety switch? If its leaking, time to replace it.

That said, that isn't your problem. Though it may be a contributor.
