Yes heyyou is spot on, it’s an old voltage regulator
the ballast resistor for the ignition coil is to the left of it
well now that I took a good look at it it doesn’t have the mounting tabs like a common Chrysler voltage regulator
it just might be the controller for the EGR or something for emissions
