Default Please help! Air conditioner.

I have a 1999 Dodge van that is handicap accessible. PLEASE bare with me on not knowing the technical names for what I'm about to say.

Last summer I had air conditioning issues. First thing I noticed I'd that the air/heat only worked on high. Then it would only blow air at the back of the van and the windshield. Then I started having a horrible noise under the hood so I took it to the shop.

They replaced the air Conditioner on it and replaced some resister. Now the air works on all speeds and is cold but still only blows at the back of the van and windshield.

I also replaced the entire unit that houses all the control ***** for the heat/air. It was a used part as I couldnt find anywhere that sold new ones.

Do any of you have any ideas on what could be wrong?

I'm a woman without a clue for what I should try next lol

A/C controls are all pretty much vacuum powered, without vacuum, the system defaults to Defrost. (just blowing at the base of the windshield.) Likely you have a broken vacuum line to the controls. Finding it is the fun part, fixing it once you found it is easy.
