I have a 99 ram van 1500 5.9L v8. I was wondering if the engine is the same as the 99 ram 1500 pickup with the 5.9L engine. How different are they? I know my van has the rear ac so I have a bunch of extra hoses running over the engine, but what else differs?

Same engine. Oil pan/pickup tube may be different, but, that's about it.

 

I believe they are exactly the same engine in the Van line as the Truck line.

 

I assume a bit of the layout is different, right? Any guide out there as to what the exact differences are out there? I ask because I sometimes can't find parts for the van, but see a ton of parts for the pickup, same year, same engine size.

Not really. There are changes from year to year, but, the engine is essentially the same.
