Default Power window separated from lifting track

Hi, on my 97 B3500, on my passenger window, the lifting track keeps falling off from the bottom of the window, and the window just falls, luckily it hasn’t broken yet, can I, or should I use some type of glue,or sealant, inside the track to keep it from falling off in the future?, checked all the manuals, but no info to be found, thanks for any advice you may give,,,,,,

The bracket was originally glued to the glass. Over time, the glue breaks down, and eventually, doesn't hold any more..... As you have discovered. You can pull the window, take the bracket off, clean it out real good, and re-glue it.... (would require some research on just what glue to use......) Or, replace the window....

Thanks for you reply, so far all the answers I’ve gotten are to use a silicon type adhesive, so I’m going to go with that , I’ll let you know what I find,,,thanks again,,,,,

I fixed mine years ago with straight silicone and it's been fine ever since. Do your best to clean the glass and track surfaces where the silicone will go for better adhesion. After I applied the silicone I closed the window and didn't open it for 3-days just to make sure it cured. I imagine letting it sit for just 24-hours would be enough as long as you limit the number of ups and down for a few days.

Thanks for your reply, I did exactly as you did, and so far it is holding great,,,your right about cleaning it first, there was a lot of Grime in the track, took a while to clean it out,,,but a much better bond,,,, thanks again,,,,,
