Post What is this part???

Hey! My name is John and live in Hungary, I am new here. I hope it's okay to have a new topic for this thing.

Here's this picture, I only want to ask you guys what is this part next to the oil pressure? The red-lined curved thing. At first I thought it's a hole but then I saw it's screwed.

Thank you for all the answers!

I suspect that is the boss for the egr pipe. What year is your van?

Given the year, you should actually have that pipe. It runs from that port on the intake, to the passenger exhaust manifold, but, I can't really see the boss for it on the exhaust. Should be an egr valve just behind the keg part of the manifold as well, which I also don't see...

That whole *should* go into the intake plenum, which if it was open, would be a horrendous vacuum leak...... Does it run ok??

Hi thx for the comment.I take more pictures for clear view.

It looks like somebody blocked the EGR system. As you see in the pictures the right side exhaust manifold is also blocked or welded as I think that the other side of the pipe should goes

Yep, EGR block-off plate, and it looks like the exhaust manifold was never drilled for the pipe. Wonder if you got a motor swap at some point in the past.....
