The previous owner of my 2000 Ram Van 3500 with 5.9 decided to cut wires instead of fixing whatever problems he was experiencing. I am now having fun putting it back together so it runs right and gets better than 5 mpg.

I am trying to identify this item in the below pics. Looking from the front, it’s mounted just right of the ECU, and has a blue, purple and red wire cut off. What is this item, and what does it do?

That's a cruise control actuator. That cable coming off the right side goes to the throttle.
