Default Replacing steering components

Hi, I have decided to replace a lot of the front end steering parts, on my 97 B3500 van, idler arms, center link, and tie rods, inner and outer, I will get an alignment after the job is done,,my question is should I have the wheels off the ground when I’m doing this, or will it be ok on the ramps with proper supports, the parts are still all the original from the manufacturer, , so I’m hoping for an improvement in the performance of the steering on my van,,,,if you have any hints or pointers on this job, I would be very thankful to hear any of your ideas,,, thank you,,,,,,

.. I just did all of that and more.. ball joints, tie rods inner and outer, Drag link, idler arms, gearbox.. fun fun stuff (yeah b250s have two idlers but no one believes me lol) I did tires off ground.. and Alignment was a breeze once I realized to just loosen both ends of the adjuster bar for the tie rods, with wheels on ground, start with one side wheel straight and just twist the adjuster until the toe of the other wheel comes straight again.. saved me a bundle.. good luck
