Default Headlights not working.

Hi all,
i recently bought a 1985 b350 motorhome. A few weeks back the high beam indicator on the dash went out and then I noticed two headlights were out. I checked the fuse and I changed the bulbs the lights still wouldn't work. I'm a newbie at fixing stuff on this van so forgive some pretty basic questions.
1. Are the high beams on top or below in the 4 light configuration?
2. When the high beams are on in a normal working situation are all 4 lights on ? Or just 2 lights?
3. Having checked the grounding for the lights (same ground point as for my battery) this seems ok. Is there another fix you could suggest.

Thanks in advance for your help. I've already used this site to diagnose and fix some other issues with the van, and I really appreciate the great service this is!

Since you initially had an issue with the high beam indicator not working, I'd start at the headlight Hi/Low switch.

Thanks for the idea. Without taking too much of your time, could you give me some pointers on what exactly I should be looking for?

The switch is a little metal button on the floor next to the kick panel. Water and dirt from your feet corrode it over the years. It's the first thing I check for a problem like yours. There's just two bolts and a plug. I think you can still get them from the parts store. Slap a new one in with a little dielectric grease to seal crud out.

Thanks for your help.
A little bit more information for you.
When I press the switch. It does toggle some something. The top 2 lights will go on when I press it and off when I press the switch again. Could the switch still be the problem in this case?

I'm not saying it is for sure, but usually, when they fail, they often do one set of lights but not the other. It's cheap and easy to replace. If that's it, you're golden. If it isn't, it's not like you laid out huge bucks.
