Default 1988 Ram B250 AC stopped working when we installed a new sound system

Hello,
A fellow installed a new sound system in our Dodge Ram and now the AC doesn't work.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what might have gone wrong and how I might fix it?
Trying to avoid a mechanic if it's just a fuse or loose wire. I found a fuse box in the glove compartment.
I don't have a manual. Bought it 2nd hand and the book was gone already. Is there more than one fuse box? It's a Travelaire camp van model.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Patricia

What isn't working? Is the fan not blowing at all? Is it blowing warm air when you want cold? Bit more detail would be good.

Welcome to DF!

Thank you, The AC still blows air, just not cooling it anymore. Once the radio/cd player went in the cooling function went off.

Hhhhmmm..... I don't have wiring diagrams for your van.... and I think that's gonna be pretty much a requirement for figgering this one out. It's possible some modification of the wiring harness in the dash may be the cause, but, without know which wires do what, it just gonna be a wild-arsed guess.

Can you get a service manual for your van? Ebay is generally a good source. Usually, you can find one for download for 25 bucks or so. And you want the REAL service manual, not a Haynes, or Chilton. They are simply not specific enough.

Most likely he knocked the connector off the back of the dash selector switch.

On a ram van with push button a/c controls , there are two wires coming off the back of that panel ,rather small compared to the blower wires, ALLORO hit the nail on the head, the installer probably knocked or pulled one of those wires off, those wires run the a/c compressor
