Alright guys, first post here about my 1994 dodge B350 with the 5.9
I replaced timing set with cloyes and harmonic balancer with ATP all from rock auto and am now experiencing and extreme shake increasing with engine RPM.
It starts fine and the shake isnt as noticable in park but definitely there if given gas.
Ive lined harmonic balancer with TDC mark on timing cover, checked distributor rotor was facing #1 wire and verified #1 piston was TDC, then rotated crank 360 and checked the valves on #1 cylinder and they measured the same height.
Sounds like its the wrong or a bad out of the box harmonic balancer. Put the old one back on and see.
I will do this and see what happens, however I did notice the exhaust coughing after hitting the throttle so that leads me to believe its mis/backfiring

Where in the heck did I go wrong...?
Were the plug wires unhooked at all? What year was the balancer for? There was a balancing change on the 360 (I'm old and not metric) in the late 90's.
Balancer was for 93. My VIN says its a 94 but my build plate says 05/93 so... I also couldnt find a single unit to bolt my pulley to for 94 they were all single units so I assumed I had 93.
That was it guys! Problem solved! She runs perfect now! It was the silly harmonic balancer!
Sometimes a small part or adjustment has huge results. I recently tracked down a problem with my '93 GottaMechanicComing pickup that was a cracked hold down clamp for the distributor. I've never had one just fail before. The last one I worked on that broke was a race engine that grenaded at speed. I'll bet your truck purrs like a kitten now.
