Default [solved] 1988 B250 - Radio and Interior lights dead + other electrical issue

Good Morning. Thanks for the add!

I have a 1988 B250 van and recently both the radio and interior lights have gone dead.

I've verified I the fuses are good and I also measure 12v on either side of them.

The radio is getting acc and dimmer power at the radio harness but not 12v constant (clock/memory). So I think it's the #6 circuit that isn't working right. Oddly other items on that circuit like the lighters work fine.

If the fuses are good and powered, what could cause the both the radio and interior lights to not work? Are the fuseable links upstream of the fuses or downstream?

Also another odd issue....while troubleshooting the above issue I was getting low voltage on my #8 (wiper) fuse and I then accidentally shorted it when removing it. I put in a new fuse but that circuit is now dead. Oddly the wipers and pump still work fine?

Hoping some folks have some input. Would also be open so wiring diagrams if you have them handy please?

Thank you

Thanks that was a big help! So oddly my 88' manual has my radio and dome/interior fuse in the wrong spot! So it's the dead #8 fuse that has no power.

So I'm thinking the upstream fuseable link is blown. Is it possible to get at it by unwrapping the harness at the brake booster? Or does it have to come out?

If the booster needs to come out is there any instructions for doing so available? I don't want to mess with the master cyl. If possible.

Thank you!

Default Solved

Well it turns out it was a bad headlight switch causing the radio and interior light issue. The switch actually started smoking when I was moving the dimmer back and forth.
