So I bought the van and it came with no key, (I'm know I'm an idiot.) Dude was using a screwdriver to start it. Anyway drove around fine for a while and one day set off the security immobiliz somehow. I bought a new ignition with key, have tried unhooking battery, tried to restart the brain, the security light on dash turned off but the van still won't start. It turns over and sounds like it wants to start but then just shuts off still like the immobilizer is still engaged. What can I do?

 

Can you get in touch with the seller and ask him about it? Maybe he has already solved this issue.

 

unfortunately that's not an option. From what I've read I've narrowed it down to asd relay, cam/crank shaft, tipm, ecm, pcm, or ignition coil.

Wonder what color the original key was.

Get a build sheet for your Van from here. (caution, case sensitive, letters must be caps.) See if it came from the factory with the security system. (which I think would need a grey key....)
