Default Is the fan cowl necessary?

In my 2002 Ram Van 1500 Elkheart Conversion with a 5.9 Windsor and 108K miles, I just replaced the radiator, fan clutch and water pump and am waiting for a new distributor cap and rotor and PU coil to be delivered.

I had to destroy the fan cowl in order to access the water pump due to the lack of room in the engine compartment. (see photo) I am thinking that there should not be an issue with cooling and air flow since we do so little stop and go driving. I installed and all aluminum radiator with 3 tubes so I am thinking that should take care of any heat.

I would appreciate any feedback or input that might be out there.

Thanks.

I suppose that depends on where you are, and local conditions. If you find yourself in florida, on a hot summer day, and want to run your air conditioning...... WIthout the shroud, the a/c isn't going to be very efficient, and neither is the cooling system.......
