Default Oil pressure

I have a 94 Dodge Ram2500 Van. Last week I stopped in a Jiffy Lube to have them do a lube and oil. They didn't have the parts needed to do the job but they started messing with my oil when they realized it. I told them don't do the oil change then buy they already drained my oil so they grabbed a big jug of oil and topped it back off. I drove a mile or two and saw that I didn't have hardly any oil pressure so I returned to Jiffy lube and when the checked my dipstick I was over by quite a bit so they drained some out but it didn't fix my oil pressure. I then took my Van to my mechanic who tried a new oil pump on it but that didn't fix the issue either so they are recommending I put in a new engine. Can you recommend anything that might save me the expense and down time of having a new engine installed?

My question would be, IS oil pressure actually low? The dash gauge ain't the most accurate. Put a mechanical gauge on there, and see what it has to say.

Find a new mechanic! He should have tested it with a mechanical gauge beforehand to verify it was the problem. He is just selling you parts and labor for his profit. Also may help to know how many miles on it and what oil they put in it.
