Default Adjust valve lash on 1978 tradesman Help

I have a 1978 tradesman van that I have been suggested to check the valve lash settings.
The engine doesn’t seem to have what many videos show where there is a nut to adjust the settings.

please guide me to how to

Valve train isn't adjustable.

What seems to be the issue?

Thank you for the message !

The van runs but when warms up it stalls

it was also backfiring

all basic tune up things have been done.

when I took the valve cover off the gasket was terrible though. So will replace that for sure.
