Weird issues? a couple of things I fixed that were abnormal
Hi all.
I have experienced a few weird issues lately:
Sooo...I want to say that we all probably should change out the catalytic convertor. We are at 20+ years old and they dont work too well even if you have taken well care of your van. Mine was bad. Now MPG is back to 12, idle is smooth, and I can do 80++++. It feels like it has 50 more HP now - and I bet it does.
The other issues were from a battery post clamp that would tighten, but would come loose with driving. It is amazing how fixing that made my subwoofer amp work again :lol: If you look at it, you wouldnt notice until you pulled on it.
Now I am fixing the timing chain, water pump and new radiator. I should really be good to go after that

- Van wouldnt go over 80mph
- Van's transmission would "dropout' - which I believe is the TC locking and unlocking
- My subwoofer would cut in and out
- Sometimes the van would start acting like the battery was dead
- Idle was rough even after plugs/wires/cap/rotor
- Van was sluggish and getting 10MPG
